responsible to you for this 8.69, ἀθῷοι τῶν ἀδικημάτων unpunished for offences Lyc. 79. ἔνοχος usually takes the dative, and so ὑπεύθῡνος meaning dependent on or exposed to. The above compounds of ὑπό take the genitive by virtue of the substantive contained in them.
